Hi Everyone!

Just thought I would do a little Heidi update as Derek downloaded some cute videos that I took of Heidi this week. She is doing great and weighs around 15 pounds. A perfect little pudge. The first video is of her being tickled by Nichole’s foot, that is the big blue thing. She just looked so cute and was making the best noises. Little kids giggles are the best! It was nice to hear her laugh too since she has been a little crabby, we think she is going through a growth spurt since there are no teeth yet. The second video is of her clicking her tongue. That was something that Grandma Patty was trying to get her to do over Christmas and she is finally able to do it really well. The bad part is when she starts doing it during church. Oh well at least she is not crying but she does scream sometimes too. I can’t believe how fast she is growing and I cannot believe that she is 7 and a half months already.

Derek and I are doing well. Derek is keeping busy with work and just finished up a review so he was able to meet with his advisor while he was here for a few days which was nice. We have also gotten a lot of rain recently so we have lots of lakes around the property.

The other exciting thing is that we put a contract on a house last week. We found one that we really liked and we are  just waiting for appraisal and inspection to come through. It is north of Panama City in a little township called Greenhead. It has a Chipley address though. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home and has 17 acers for the horses. So we hope things go well with it. Other than Heidi growing up, us needing Noah’s Ark, and putting a contract on a house not much is going on!

P.S. Go COLTS!!

Well we have been drying out after getting 5″ of rain in a little under 15hrs. Our property has been the land of lakes and I swore we needed a canoe on Thursday night to go out and feed the horses. Other than that things are going well down here in Florida with us settling into a routine after the holidays.  Heidi is doing great and getting bigger everyday, we have included new photos in the gallery and a few videos of her talking and playing with Nevada below. This should satisfy the grandparents for a little while

Derek will be starting to travel for work over the next few months for conferences, reviews and meetings so he will be busy. Also we have started to look for a house as we feel that this is the place that we need to be and we are really enjoying the area and the job. We are in a good position with where we are renting so we don’t have to be in any big hurry to buy. However, we have seen a pretty good prospect this week.

Hi Everyone!

Just thought we would update you all as to what was going on with us.

First of all Derek went to Fort Collins to do his PhD Qualifier. He was gone for a week and got to see some friends and was able to get enough studying done to pass. This means that step one of 3 is complete for him to get his PhD. We were very excited and proud of him for getting this step done.

I did ok while he was gone the puppy was a little hyper but we managed to keep her busy enough.

We were able to start Heidi on solid food with some rice cereal. She seemed to like it and ate most of it. Though some of it did end up on her bib, the booster seat, her hands and tray. We got a video and some pics so we hope you enjoy.

Well it is Conference weekend I thought I would give a quick update on what is happening in the Tucker household. The puppy is doing well and her and Summit are starting to get a long and play. Nichole was able to capture them playing a few days ago on the video camera.

Heidi is doing great and is growing and learning new things every day. She has been smiling and “baby talking” everyday. She is also starting to hold her head up more and looking around. She has been a real joy in our lives everyday.

Things in Florida have cooled down a lot and we have had mornings in the 50’s and days in the low 80’s so we have been able to get a lot of chores done around the house. Derek was able to this morning construct a sweet arena drag out of a few parts from Lowe’s and random stuff around the barn and it worked great. Derek will also be headed out on travel this month off and on for work presenting papers of his research and they will be posted after the papers have been presented.

Well that is about it, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Fall.

Well I figured it was my turn to make a post and let everybody know about our new addition. Nichole and I adopted a puppy this week from a kill shelter. So everyone meet Nevada, she is a 4 month old blue heeler puppy. We have been looking for another dog for Summit to play with as she is getting a little neglected as our attention has been with Heidi. So I was looking and found Nevada and we went up to Chipley, FL to see her and Nichole was hooked. Summit has adjusted to her after defining the boundaries and they have been playing. We have added pictures of her to the gallery.

Heidi has been getting bigger everyday and is giving us big smiles all the time now. Everyday is something new and she is a great joy to our life. My sister made a few new bows for her and this a picture is for my sister and is our little girl pretty? I guess I am a little biased being the dad.

I can’t believe how fast the summer is going as it is already August and the summer will be over and especially that Heidi is six weeks already. Time does really fly when you are having fun. The family has been keeping busy with the horses and the working around the house. We have added more pictures to the “Heidi” album in the gallery as well as a video below of her smiling. The grandparents will enjoy it I am sure. Nichole and I were also outside a few days ago cleaning the pool and found a butterfly that had just hatched from its cacoon. We were able to catch a picture of it below. Other than that we just have been working and doing the usual.

Hi-

Well I guess it is my turn to make an update, but for everyone that has been asking we have uploaded more pictures of Heidi. They are all under the Heidi album in the gallery, Nichole has been having fun with the camera.

Things around here have actually been slow and the usual. We just have been enjoying being new parents and coping and adjusting to all the changes in our lives. I have gone back to work half time and working from home the rest and actually will be heading back to the lab full time starting next week so Nichole will be handling the Heidi by herself and will do a great job. We also took a new video as well of Heidi’s first tummy time and posted it below.

Well other than that not much is going on and just enjoying life in the South. Keep in Touch!

Hi Everyone,

Happy 4th of July! We are all doing pretty well adjusting to the new baby and no sleep. Well Nichole is getting no sleep, the baby and Derek seem to be doing pretty well. Derek is busy with his new toy, his weather system that he got for his birthday. It has given him a little trouble with the wireless parts but seems to be working now so you can check out the weather at our house. Just click the weather link to the left to see detailed output and history of the current weather in Florida. Also on the weather page is a link to a webcam that is looking towards the back of our house as well timelapse as a video from the previous day. Let us know what you think.

Heidi is doing well she had her first bath, well really a wipe down that we video taped so you can check it out. She has also been to the Dr. and has gained back her birth weight and her jaundice is looking pretty good. We have some pictures of her in the sunshine hanging out with the cat. It is pretty cute. We also took her to the beach for the first time to show my mom the Gulf. She did not get out of the stroller, but she was there.

I am doing pretty well just tired. I am getting about 5 hours of sleep at night which is great. My mom is here and has been a big help around the house letting me get some rest, which I really appreciate it. We hope all is going well and there are new pictures in the Gallery!

Well I guess I spoke too soon in my post yesterday. We just welcomed into the world Heidi Rose Tucker at 12:43PM weighing 5lbs 13oz and 18 1/4″ Long. So Nichole and I are parents and are having a sureal experience today. Mommy and Baby are doing great and we are being well taken care of even though we are so far from family. The people here are great. I have posted pictures below and the rest are in the gallery for enjoyment as well as a video. Well I am tired, hope everyone is well.
